Crime and Social Justice Vol. 31, No. 2 (2003)
Preface
The Editorial Board of Crime and Social Justice is very pleased to make possible this special issue on Canada and the United States: Criminal Justice Connections. Though we have had a long relationship with Canadian contributors and readers, it has taken us too long to produce an issue that focuses on Canada and that is written by residents of Canada. We hope that this issue will help to modify the persistent U.S. bias and to begin to make Crime and Social Justice serve the broad interests of social scientists, professionals, and activists throughout North America. We want to especially thank R.S. (Bob) Ratner, our Guest Editor, for seeing this issue through from beginning to end. He not only solicited all the articles, but also worked with the authors, referees, and Editorial Board to make this issue politically interesting and professionally competent. The relationship between Bob and our Editorial Board was, we think, mutually respectful and serious; we hope that similar relationships along this model can develop for future collaborations throughout North America. In addition to the theme issue on Canada, we are pleased to include John Fried's thoughtful review of Francis A. Boyle's book, World Politics and International Law. Citation: Editors. (1986).
